Ticketing & Admission

  • You may purchase up to 50 tickets per price-type per transaction.

  • Friends of Mount Auburn Members will receive a 50% discount on Adult tickets, making their tickets $15 each. FOMAC Members should have received an email with the discount code in September. If you are a new Member, please reach out to friends@mountauburn.org to receive the discount code. Youths between the ages of 5 and 12 are $5 each, and children under 5 are free.   • No, we cannot accommodate exchanges. Please ensure that you have carefully selected your preferred date and time before completing your transaction.

  • Tickets are non-refundable. Orders will only be refunded if Mount Auburn Cemetery decides to cancel the event due to weather.

  • If we must cancel due to weather, guests will be notified via email by 12PM on the day of. All orders will be refunded in the event of a cancellation.

  • We ask that guests make every effort to arrive at the designated time on their ticket. Arriving outside of your timed entry may adversely affect the available parking on site.

  • No, we will scan your tickets when you arrive. Using your smartphone, you may pull up the event ticket(s) from your email confirmation. If you do not have a smartphone and must print your tickets, then we will scan your printed ticket. Please consider the environment before printing your event confirmation.

  • There will be a Check-In tent on Fountain Ave for everyone parked in the East lots (i.e. Purple, Blue, Green), and a Check-In tent on Central Ave by the front gates for everyone parked in the West lots (i.e. Orange, Yellow, Pink). After having your tickets scanned at a Check-In tent, we recommend starting in Story Chapel.

  • Each guest will be offered one small unlit candle upon entering Bigelow Chapel. With assistance from Mount Auburn's staff, guests will then light their candles before placing them in designated areas of the Chapel. Additional Candles may not be purchased or reserved prior to the event. Everyone is guaranteed one candle.

  • Masks are not required for either the indoor or outdoor portions of the event. However, if you are not feeling well, we strongly encourage wearing a mask. If conditions change, the mask policy will be updated with the advice of the public health community.

  • The last entry is 8:30pm. Guests are welcome to enjoy the experience until 9:30pm.

  • Yes! Please keep an eye on your email for additional information as the event nears.

Amenities & Accessibility

  • No. The Cemetery closes to the general public at 5:00pm in December. Only SOLSTICE ticket holders may enter after hours (and only at their designated ticket time). SOLSTICE attendees must stay on the designated route and are not permitted to go beyond the parking and event areas.

  • While we are not requiring guests to move through the event in a specific time frame, we anticipate it taking between 45-60 minutes for guests to get the full experience of SOLSTICE.

  • There will be six parking areas available. The East lots are identified as Blue, Purple, and Green. The West lots are identified as Orange, Yellow, and Pink. We will have attendants helping to coordinate parking for all guests. When you arrive through the main entrance gates, an attendant will direct you to available parking. If you need accessible parking, please let the attendant know as soon as you arrive, and they will direct you to the appropriate lot. While there will be lighting on site, you may still wish to bring a flashlight to get to and from your car.

  • The event route will stay on paved roads, and both Chapels are accessible. The route is just under one mile, which includes the distance from the parking areas, and does include steep grades.   • Yes! There will be sweet and salty treats as well as warm drinks available for purchase.

  • Yes, restrooms will be available for guests at Story Chapel and Bigelow Chapel.

  • The event will take place mostly outdoors. Dress appropriately for the weather that day.

  • Please silence your phones and turn off your flash for this experience. You may take photos of the outdoor light displays. While photos are allowed inside the Chapels, we ask that guests do their best to take them quietly so as not to disturb others.
